Can't fall asleep at night? Try this gentle technique
It's late at night, your body is exhausted, but your mind just won't stop. You may have tried counting sheep or listening to music, but the results are limited. In fact, our body has its own "sleep switch" - just gently press a certain acupoint on your wrist, and it can gradually relax your tense nerves. This method comes from traditional Chinese health care, simple and safe, you can try it tonight.

One finger pressed, the mind becomes calm naturally
This technique targets the "Shenmen" acupoint. According to traditional Chinese medicine, it is connected with the heart meridian, helping to regulate the flow of qi and blood, unblock the meridians, and bring a restless mind back to calm. The operation requires no tools, just your own fingers and a bit of patience.
Where is it located?
Extend your hand, palm up, on the wrist crease on the side of the little finger, there is a small bony prominence, and the inner depression next to it - that's the Shenmen acupoint. There is one on each wrist.
How to press?
- Use the fingertip of the thumb of the other hand, gently place it on the Shenmen acupoint.
- Press down gently, feeling a slight soreness and distension, but don't press too hard.
- Combine with slow and deep breathing: press lightly when inhaling, and slightly relax when exhaling, maintaining a rhythm.
- Press each side for 2-3 minutes, then switch sides, and repeat 1-2 times.
Why is it effective?
This gentle stimulation promotes local blood circulation, relieving tension from the wrist to the heart area. After a few days of consistent practice, you will find that the restlessness when falling asleep decreases, and your body is easier to enter a relaxed state. It doesn't aim for immediate results, but rather through daily gentle care, helping you gradually regain the natural rhythm of sleep.
Making sleep simple
Every night before going to bed, set aside five minutes for yourself, giving yourself a gentle finger pressure ritual. Don't deliberately pursue results, focus your attention on your breathing and the sensation of the pressure, slowly letting go of daytime distractions. When it becomes a habit, a good night's sleep will quietly approach.
