The Flow of Body, Mind, and Qi: Three Gentle Exercises for Daily Emotional Balance

Introduction

Modern life is fast-paced, and emotions can easily fluctuate. Traditional Chinese Medicine emphasizes the "flow of mind and energy." When the energy flows smoothly, the mind becomes calm. Today, I share three gentle exercises to help you regain peace in daily life.

身心气机流动,日常养心妙法:三个温和练习让情绪回归平和

Exercise 1: Diaphragmatic Breathing

1. Sit in a quiet place, place your hands on your abdomen.
2. Let your belly expand when inhaling, and contract when exhaling.
3. Breathe slowly and deeply for 5 minutes.

Principle: Deep breathing guides the energy downward, gradually releasing tension, allowing the body and mind to naturally harmonize.

Exercise 2: Slow Walking

1. Walk slowly while paying attention to the sensation of your feet touching the ground.
2. Coordinate with your breathing, inhale while taking three steps, and exhale while taking three steps.
3. Just walk for 10 minutes.

Principle: Slow walking promotes smooth circulation of qi and blood, prevents scattered thoughts, and helps achieve balance between yin and yang.

Exercise 3: Sitting Meditation

1. Sit upright, close your eyes, and relax your shoulders.
2. Imagine a warm flow of energy slowly moving from the top of your head to your feet.
3. Maintain this for 3-5 minutes.

Principle: Sitting meditation nourishes the energy, allows the mind to return inward, and naturally brings emotional stability and comfort.

Summary

These three exercises are simple and safe. Choose one each day to help the energy flow and restore emotional balance. With consistent practice, you will feel a sense of lightness and tranquility in both body and mind.
