Introduction
After a long day at work, your shoulders feel as hard as stone and your back is sore and stiff. Actually, you don't need to go out or use any equipment. Just spend 15 minutes every day practicing Tai Chi at home, and your body will gradually relax, and your mind will also calm down. This is the charm of home-based Tai Chi - simple, gentle, yet full of wisdom.

Why Choose Home-Based Tai Chi?
Home-based Tai Chi is especially suitable for people who sit for long periods and the elderly. Its movements are slow, without any violent impact, making it safe. More importantly, it emphasizes "a balance between movement and stillness," awakening the body through slow movements. It doesn't consume too much energy, yet effectively relieves stiffness and enhances overall comfort.
Today's Tip: Cloud Hands
Today, I will only teach you one core movement - Cloud Hands. It flows like clouds and water, moving the entire body, especially suitable for those with tight shoulders and back.
Movement Steps
- Stand naturally with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, hands placed in front of the abdomen, palms facing inward.
- Shift your weight to the right leg, lift the left hand up in an arc to the chest, and let the right hand naturally press down, as if stirring a basin of water.
- Slowly turn your body to the right, eyes following the left hand; then shift your weight to the left, draw an arc with the right hand, alternating left and right.
- The whole process is like holding an invisible ball, slowly rotating the waist, keeping the arms relaxed without force.
Breathing Coordination
Inhale gently when the arms move upward, exhale slowly when they move downward, allowing the rhythm to be natural between each inhalation and exhalation. Don't hold your breath, let your breathing guide the movement. Imagine the flow of energy from the abdomen to the fingertips, gradually dissolving the stiffness.
Gentle Adjustment Principles
Cloud Hands activates the spine and limb joints by turning the waist, lowering the shoulders, and relaxing the hips, helping to unblock the flow of qi and blood, and relax the body and mind. In traditional Chinese medicine, "smooth flow means no pain." When the qi flows smoothly, stiffness naturally decreases. This method of "calm breathing and daily gentle care" does not pursue excessive sweating but restores the body's flexibility gently.
Summary
Spending 15 minutes every day, not too much, not too fast, choose a quiet corner, and practice Cloud Hands slowly a few times. You can clearly feel your body becoming lighter and your mood more stable. Start from scratch, and persistence is key.
