A Simple Tip: Standing Breathing and Cloud Hands

We focus on one core movement - Cloud Hands. This movement originates from traditional Qigong, imitating the flowing motion of clouds, effectively unblocking the flow of Qi and blood, and reducing stress.

Applicable for Physical Discomforts

  • Shoulder pain and stiff neck
  • Cold hands and feet or inexplicable fatigue
  • Easy to lose balance while walking, feeling light-headed

Exercise Steps

1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, hands naturally hanging down, and the whole body relaxed.
2. Inhale, slowly lift both palms forward and upward to chest height, palms facing down, as if holding a ball.
3. Exhale, slowly turn the body to the left, while both hands draw an arc to the left side of the body, reaching the leftmost point, with palms still facing down.
4. Inhale, slowly return the body to center, and bring the hands back to chest level.
5. Exhale, draw an arc with the hands to the right, reaching the rightmost point.
6. Repeat 5-10 times, the more gentle the movements, the better.

Respiration Coordination

Exhale (or naturally exhale) when drawing arcs, inhale when returning to center. The breathing should be deep, slow, and not held. If you feel uncomfortable, you can temporarily ignore the breathing and focus on the movements first.

Mild Adjustment Principle

Cloud Hands promotes overall circulation of Qi and blood through the slow rotation of the spine and extension of the arms, especially gently moving the shoulders, hips, and waist. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, smooth flow of Qi and blood means no pain and smooth energy flow. This balanced practice of movement and stillness can harmonize Yin and Yang, soothe an agitated nervous system, and help you achieve gentle self-care in daily life.

Summary

Practice "Cloud Hands" once a day for 5 minutes, and you will find your body gradually becomes more flexible and your mood more peaceful. This is not just physical exercise, but also a lifestyle attitude - regaining composure amidst busyness and healing yourself in simplicity.
