Introduction: An Ancient Health Method You Can Use at Home
After a busy day, do you feel stiff shoulders and neck, sore back, and lack of energy? Actually, our body contains an invisible "energy highway" - the meridians. The ancients believed that meridians are the pathways for qi and blood; when they are blocked, discomfort occurs. Today, I share a simple self-care method: massaging the "Hegu" point. Just a few minutes can help you unblock and relax. It requires no tools, can be done at home, and is safe and gentle.

Applicable Areas: Headache, Shoulder and Neck Tension, Fatigue
If you often feel your head heavy, temples tight, or your neck and shoulders feel like carrying a stone after sitting for a long time, this acupoint is especially suitable. Hegu point can also relieve mental tension, helping you quickly regain a calm and comfortable state after working from home or watching TV.
Pressure Location: Between the thumb and index finger
Hegu point is easy to find: bring together the thumb and index finger of one hand, and there is a muscle bulge at the web of the hand, the highest point is Hegu point. Alternatively, use the thumb pad of the other hand to press near the web, and find the most sore spot.
Operation Method: Gentle Pressure, Combined with Breathing
1. Use the tip of the right thumb to press vertically on the left Hegu point, with light pressure until you feel mild soreness.
2. Press while inhaling slowly, and release while exhaling. One press and release makes one session, repeat 20-30 times.
3. Then switch hands to press the other side. Do it once each in the morning and evening, or press whenever you feel tired.
Note: Pregnant women should use caution with this point.
Mild Regulation Principle: Unblocking Meridians, Balancing Qi and Blood
According to traditional Chinese medicine, Hegu point belongs to the Large Intestine Meridian of Hand-Yangming, and is a "original point," which can regulate the body's overall qi and blood. Lightly stimulating it is like ventilating a pipe, allowing stagnant qi and blood to flow again. When qi and blood circulate smoothly, pain and tension naturally ease. This concept of "daily gentle health care" emphasizes following the natural flow and not overexerting, suitable for everyone.
Summary: Gentle Health Care at Home, Comfortable Every Day
The wisdom of meridians is not esoteric; it is like a quiet old friend who teaches us to take care of ourselves in the gentlest way. Spend a few minutes every day massaging the Hegu point, which is both relaxing your body and caring for your mind. Home life thus gains more peace and comfort.
