Where is the Fengchi Point?

The Fengchi point is located below the back of the head, in the depression on the outer side of the two large muscles, with one on each side. Gently touch it with your fingers, and you can feel two small depressions, which are the acupoints.

How to Press the Fengchi Point?

Place the thumb pads of both hands on the acupoint, and use the other four fingers to support the head. Gently press inward while making small circular movements. The pressure should be moderate, causing a slight soreness and distension, but not too strong. Press and rub for 1-2 minutes each time, and repeat 2-3 times. For better results, combine it with slow neck rotations.

The Principle of Gentle Regulation

According to traditional Chinese medicine, "stagnation leads to pain." The Fengchi point is an important acupoint on the Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian. Pressing it can unblock the meridians in the head and neck, and regulate the flow of qi and blood. Modern people often suffer from prolonged低头 (looking down) at their phones or computers, leading to local stagnation of qi and blood. A gentle press on the Fengchi point is like a mild "unblocking" for tense muscles, allowing the qi and blood to flow smoothly again, thus naturally relieving discomfort.

Notes and Summary

During the acupressure, keep your breathing steady and your body relaxed. If severe pain or dizziness occurs during pressing, stop immediately. Daily self-care relies on persistence. Spend a few minutes each day pressing the Fengchi point, and let your body return to a calm and comfortable state. Remember, self-massage at home is not complicated.
