Acupressure Meridians

Self-massage at three immune-related acupoints at home, simple and effective for daily relaxation and relief.

Introduction: A Few Presses to Activate the Body's Self-Healing Power

In modern life, with its fast pace and high stress levels, many people feel physically exhausted and experience weakened immunity. In fact, traditional Chinese medicine has long told us that the human body itself carries a "medicine box" - acupoints. No complicated tools are needed, nor is it necessary to go out. Spending just a few minutes each day pressing on a few key acupoints can help relieve tension, balance qi and blood, and gradually restore the body's harmony. Today, we will introduce three simple and easily accessible immune acupoints that can be done at home, which are safe and gentle.

Self-massage of 3 immune acupoints at home, simple and effective for daily relaxation

First Acupoint: Hegu (LI4) - Relieve Head and Face Discomfort

Location

Hegu is located on the back of the hand. When the thumb and index finger are brought together, it is at the highest point of the muscle bulge in the webbing between them. Pressing gently will cause a sensation of soreness and distension.

Operation Method

Use the fingertip of the thumb of the other hand to press vertically. The pressure should be mild enough to feel a slight soreness and distension. Press for 3-5 seconds each time, release, and repeat about 20 times. Alternate hands and do this 1-2 times a day.

Regulation Principle

Massaging Hegu can unblock the meridians of the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian, helping to relieve headaches, nasal congestion, and stiffness in the shoulders and neck, while also helping to enhance yang energy and strengthen resistance. It is suitable for relaxation after long hours of computer work or during periods of mental stress.

Second Acupoint: Zusanli (ST36) - Nourish Qi and Stomach for Better Energy

Location

Zusanli is located on the outer side of the lower leg, about four fingers below the kneecap, at the position one finger breadth lateral to the tibia. Find the depression area, and pressing there will produce a feeling of soreness and distension.

Operation Method

Sit with your knees bent. Use the tip of the thumb or index finger to press, or you can use the knuckle of your fist. Rub each acupoint for 3-5 minutes, maintaining steady pressure and adjusting according to comfort. Do this twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.

Regulation Principle

Zusanli is a famous health-enhancing acupoint, capable of regulating the stomach and spleen, and replenishing central energy. When the stomach and spleen function well, the source of qi and blood production is ensured, thus naturally enhancing immunity. Regular pressing can improve poor digestion and fatigue, giving you more energy.

Third Acupoint: Guanyuan (CV4) - Warm the Lower Jiao and Calm the Mind

Location

Guanyuan is located about four fingers below the navel, on the midline of the front of the body.

Operation Method

After warming your palms, gently rub the Guanyuan acupoint in a clockwise direction using the large fish际 or the palm, for 3-5 minutes each time until the abdomen feels slightly warm. You can also combine palm rubbing with deep breathing.

Regulation Principle

Guanyuan is an important acupoint on the Conception Vessel, with effects of warming kidney yang and reinforcing the fundamental essence. Regularly massaging it can relieve cold pain in the lower abdomen and soreness in the waist and knees, helping to improve sleep quality and make the mind and body more tranquil.

Summary: A Few Minutes Daily to Build a Healthy Body

The three acupoints mentioned above - Hegu, Zusanli, and Guanyuan - target the upper, middle, and lower jiao respectively, providing overall regulation of the body. When performing self-massage at home, pay attention to maintaining even breathing and gentle techniques, slowly sensing the changes in your body. After persisting for some time, you will find yourself catching fewer colds, experiencing less aches and pains, and feeling more emotionally stable. Health preservation is a long-term process; start today and warm yourself with your fingertips.
